In this poignant moment captured by Kirk O'Rourke during the William Hill Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, Rangers Football Club pays tribute to one of their own, Jonny Little, who tragically lost his life at the age of 26. The photograph depicts a moment of silence as the players and fans come together to honor the memory of the talented midfielder, who had made 130 appearances for the club between 1999 and 2003. The Scottish Cup fourth round match against Queen of the South on January 11, 2003, was postponed for 24 hours following the sudden death of Little, who collapsed during training the previous day. The postponement allowed time for the Rangers community to mourn and pay their respects to the young player, who had been a beloved figure both on and off the pitch. As the clock ticked down to the start of the rescheduled match, a hush fell over Ibrox Stadium. The players, dressed in their blue and white stripes, stood in a line, heads bowed, as a mark of respect to their fallen teammate. Fans, many with tears in their eyes, joined in the moment of silence, holding up scarves and banners in tribute to Little.
