The date was September 15, 2007, and the atmosphere was electric as the home team took on their arch-rivals in a Scottish Premier League encounter. Thomson, a key player in Walter Smith's Rangers side, had already opened the scoring in the first half with a cool finish from the edge of the penalty area. But the visitors fought back, leveling the game before the hour mark. The crowd roared as their team pressed forward, determined to regain the lead.
