Great moment captured in this photograph as Rangers Football Club's Steven Davis puts pen to paper on a new five-year contract, securing his future with the Scottish giants, before leading them to a 2-0 pre-season victory against Blackpool. The Northern Irish international midfielder, who has been a key figure in the Rangers midfield since joining from Southampton in 2016, puts his signature on the dotted line in front of a delighted manager and club officials. Davis, who has made over 150 appearances for the club, has been instrumental in their successes in the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup, and his experience and leadership qualities have been invaluable to the younger members of the squad. The signing of the contract was followed by an impressive performance on the pitch, as Davis and his teammates ran out 2-0 winners against Blackpool in a pre-season friendly. The first half saw Rangers dominate possession and create numerous chances, with Davis pulling the strings in midfield and setting up several goalscoring opportunities. In the second half, the deadlock was broken when Davis played a neat one-two with Alfredo Morelos before laying the ball off to Ryan Kent to score the opener. The second goal came from the penalty spot, with Davis once again involved, winning the spot-kick after being fouled in the box. The midfielder stepped up to take it himself, sending the Blackpool goalkeeper the wrong way to seal the victory.
