EDITORS COMMENTS
In this poignant image, members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces are seen paying tribute to the fallen at Ibrox Stadium during the Rangers Football Club's Remembrance Day match on Saturday, 10th November 2012. The Rangers Charity Foundation, represented by Mr Connal Cochrane, extended a heartfelt invitation to servicemen and women to be the guests of honor at the game. In a moving display of respect and gratitude, the Rangers team wore poppies on their shirts as they took to the field, symbolizing the sacrifice and courage of the Armed Forces. The stadium was filled with the sound of the Last Post and the sight of poppies adorning the sea of spectators, creating an atmosphere of solemn reflection. The Shore Establishment of HM Naval Base Clyde was well represented at the event, with personnel from the Royal Navy taking part in the commemoration. The day also marked a significant collection for Poppy Scotland, with donations pouring in both inside and outside the stadium. CPOA Thomas McDonald, from Rangers Football Club, captured this emotional moment as the Armed Forces members stood in silence, paying their respects to those who have given their lives in the service of their country. The image encapsulates the spirit of unity and appreciation between the Rangers Football Club and the Armed Forces, making it a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform.
