In this poignant photograph taken by Lynne Cameron during the 2007-08 Scottish Premier League season, former Rangers striker Nacho Novo is captured in a moment of regret as he looks on in disbelief after missing a golden opportunity during Rangers' 1-0 victory over Motherwell. Novo, a fan favorite during his time at Ibrox, had been in fine form leading up to this match and was expected to deliver the goals that would secure three points for his team. As the ball came his way in the Motherwell penalty area, the crowd held their breath in anticipation. Novo controlled the ball with ease, setting himself up for what appeared to be a certain goal. But in a cruel twist of fate, the Spanish striker's shot sailed wide of the goal, leaving him crestfallen and the Rangers fans deflated. Despite the disappointment of this missed chance, Novo continued to give his all for the team, working tirelessly to create opportunities for his teammates and pushing forward in search of the elusive equalizer.
