In the annals of Rangers Football Club history, few losses have been as shocking and devastating as the 1-4 defeat to Unirea Urziceni in the UEFA Cup group stage on September 24, 2008. The image captured here, titled "European Nights: Rangers 1-4 Unirea Urziceni," by photographer Kirk O'Rourke, encapsulates the disbelief and despair that engulfed Ibrox Stadium that fateful night. The Scottish giants, who had a rich tradition of European success, were expected to cruise through the group stage. However, Unirea Urziceni, a relatively unknown Romanian side, had other plans.
