The Scottish Cup winners of 2003 were put to the test as they faced a determined Morton side, but Rangers dominated the game with Waghorn leading the charge. The first half saw Rangers take control, with Waghorn scoring the opening goal in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error to slot the ball past the Morton goalkeeper.
