Rangers Football Club: Novo and Pressley Star in 3-0 Co-operative Insurance Cup Semi-Final Victory over Falkirk (Season 08-09) This iconic photograph captures the thrilling moment during the Co-operative Insurance Cup Semi-Final match between Rangers and Falkirk in the 2008-09 season. The image features Rangers' Spanish striker Nacho Novo, with a triumphant look on his face, celebrating a goal scored against their rivals. Novo's teammate and fellow Spaniard, Lee McCulloch, can be seen in the background, joining in the celebration. On the opposite side of the pitch, Falkirk's Steven Pressley, a former Rangers player, looks on with a mixture of disappointment and determination. Pressley, who had a successful career as a player and later became a manager, had returned to his former club as a player-manager for Falkirk. However, on this day, he was unable to lead his team to victory against his former employers. The match took place at Hampden Park, the national stadium of Scotland, and saw Rangers dominate the game from start to finish. Novo scored the first goal in the 13th minute, followed by two more goals from Maurice Edu and Lee McCulloch in the second half. The 3-0 victory secured Rangers a place in the final of the Co-operative Insurance Cup, which they went on to win against Heart of Midlothian.
