The underdogs of Brechin City had put up a valiant fight, but Wallace's determination and skill proved to be the deciding factor in this thrilling encounter. The atmosphere at Ibrox Stadium was electric as the teams took to the pitch, with both sets of fans believing their team could emerge victorious. However, it was Brechin City who struck first, taking a surprise lead over the Scottish giants. The Rangers faithful held their breath as their team pushed for an equalizer, but it seemed as though their hopes were fading. Enter Lee Wallace. The versatile defender, known for his attacking prowess, received the ball just outside the Brechin City penalty area.
