This thrilling match saw Walter Smith's Rangers team deliver a shocking result against their arch-rivals, with the Gers securing a valuable victory in one of the most hotly contested derbies in Scottish football history. The atmosphere at Celtic Park was electric as both teams battled it out for supremacy. However, it was Rangers who struck first, with Kenny Miller scoring a stunning goal in the 16th minute. Celtic fought back, leveling the score at 1-1 before half-time. But Rangers were not deterred, and they regained the lead through Nacho Novo's goal in the 53rd minute.
