EDITORS COMMENTS
Great Scott, what a moment this photograph captures! The ecstasy on Daniel Cousin's face as he scores the winning goal for Rangers against Gretna at Fir Park is a sight to behold. In the 2007-08 season, this match was a pivotal moment for both teams. Gretna, a newly promoted side, put up a valiant fight against the Scottish football giants, Rangers. However, it was Cousin's goal in the 88th minute that sealed the deal for the visitors, securing a crucial victory. The atmosphere at Fir Park that day was electric, with the home crowd urging their team on and the Rangers supporters in full voice. The tension was palpable as the game wore on, with neither team able to gain the upper hand. But Cousin, with his quick thinking and sharp instincts, managed to find a gap in the Gretna defence and slot the ball past the helpless goalkeeper. The photograph by Lynne Cameron perfectly encapsulates the excitement and drama of the moment. Cousin's jubilant celebration, the sea of orange and blue shirts in the background, and the look of disbelief on the faces of the Gretna players, all combine to create an image that will live long in the memory of Rangers fans. This goal was more than just three points in the league table for Rangers. It was a morale-boosting victory that came at a crucial time in the season, helping to keep their title challenge on track. And for Daniel Cousin, it was a moment he would remember for the rest of his career. A true moment of glory for the Rangers legend.
