Olive MacLeod (b.1886) who travelled to West Africa in 1910 in order to find answers regarding the death of her fiance, Boyd Alexander. The insets show Mrs. P.A. Talbot (top left) and Mr. P.A. Talbot (top right), who accompanied Olive MacLeod on her journey. In 1912, Miss MacLeod married Charles Lindsay Temple, the Colonial administrator, traveller and author.
