Crafted by the talented artist Nicolas Besnier (1686-1754) or attributed to him, this exquisite piece stands at a height of 21.5 cm for the ewer and has a basin length of 23.5 cm. The baluster ewer is elegantly placed on a pedestal adorned with oves, while its body boasts intricate chiseled decoration and engravings depicting trellises and shells against a matte background in cartridges. The neck features delicate wavelets, and the spout is beautifully decorated with shell motifs intertwined with flowers. The handle exhibits threaded winding with an attachment resembling cherub heads. The hinged cover displays waves, complementing the button grip resting on a gadrooned terrace.
