Charles Grey Collection

Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, was a British Whig statesman who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1830 to 1834. He is best known for introducing the Reform Act of 1832 which abolished many of the rotten boroughs and extended voting rights to more people. He also oversaw the abolition of slavery in Britain's colonies in 1833. Born in London, England, he was educated at Eton College and Trinity College Cambridge before entering politics.
