Amidst the crisp autumn air of Towcester, Northamptonshire, England, the Historic Racing Drivers Club (HRDC) and Motor Racing Legends hosted an enthralling two-day classic racing event at the iconic Silverstone Grand Prix Motor Circuit. The HRDC Dunlop Allstars and HRDc Classic Alfa Challenge brought together two distinct grids, each brimming with pre-1966 Sports, GT, and Touring Cars. The HRDC Dunlop Allstars featured three classes: GT (under 2500cc pre-66 GT's), GTA (over 2500cc pre-66 GT's), and TC (pre-66 Touring Cars). The combined grid of 116 Alfa Romeos took to the damp track for a 30-minute, single-driver race. Meanwhile, the HRDc Classic Alfa Challenge catered to 750 Alfa Romeos, divided into three classes: CORSA (full racing specification), MONZA (Historic cars), and NORD (production cars). Alfa Romeo aficionados and motorsport enthusiasts were treated to a spectacle of nostalgia as these iconic cars roared to life, their spray painting the air with a fine mist. The damp track added an extra layer of excitement, testing the drivers' skills and the cars' capabilities. In this thrilling scene, we capture Alun Edwards and his Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT, a pre-66 GT, preparing for the race.
