Royal Scots Greys Collection

The Royal Scots Greys was a cavalry regiment of the British Army from 1707 to 1971. The regiment was first raised in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1678 and served with distinction in many conflicts, including the Napoleonic Wars and both World Wars. They were known for their distinctive grey horses which gave them their name. During WWI, they fought at the Battle of Mons and took part in numerous other engagements throughout France and Belgium. In WWII, they saw action during the North African campaign as well as Normandy landings on D-Day. After being amalgamated into The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys) in 1971, members of the regiment continued to serve with distinction around the world until its disbandment in 2014.
