Here we witness how legal battles shape ownership rights and redefine what it means to possess something. Our voyage takes us back to 1897 when another world map unravels itself before us. This time it symbolizes not only territorial claims but also cultural exchanges and global interconnections that come with possessing knowledge about far-flung lands. Moving forward in time yet again, we encounter George Frederick Watts' masterpiece "For He Had Great Possessions. " Through his artistry, Watts explores the human desire for material wealth while questioning whether these possessions truly bring happiness or burden one's soul. Louis Leopold Boilly's painting "The Movings" transports us to 1822 France where individuals grapple with their belongings during times of transition. It serves as a poignant reminder that they can not merely objects but extensions of personal identity tied to memories and emotions.
