The Coal tit (Periparus ater) is a small and charming bird that can be found in various locations across Europe. In January, one was spotted perched on a mossy log with its reflection shimmering in the water, creating a picturesque scene in England, UK. Another sighting took place in Vendee, France in December, where the Coal tit gracefully sat on a branch adorned with lichen. These stunning images captured the beauty of this species as they were labeled Picture No. 12478749 and Picture No. 12478745 respectively. The scientific name Parus ater refers to this delightful creature. During winter months, these resilient birds brave the cold weather and are often seen perched on branches like an adult Coal tit photographed in Scotland, UK during December. Even amidst falling snowflakes at Cairngorms National Park, two Coal tits found solace on another branch - an enchanting sight indeed. These moments were beautifully preserved as Picture No. 12478748, Picture No. 12478747, and Picture No. 12478746. As spring arrived in Asturias, Spain during April, one lucky observer witnessed a Coal tit resting delicately on a branch surrounded by flower buds - nature's way of welcoming warmer days ahead. In February back in Scotland again; another snapshot showcased this lovely bird perched alongside lichen-covered branches - showcasing their adaptability to different environments throughout the year.
